Sunny - Santoshi patch up

The decade old rivalry running between Sunny Deol and filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi seems to have ended. A patch up has apparently taken place between the two. The actor and the director have been seen together meeting quite often in the last few days and it is being discussed in industry circles that they are planning a film together to be produced by Sunny.

Sunny Deol's business manager Neena Rao when asked about the same has quoted, "They have been meeting quite often and there is no misunderstanding between them any more. Yes, they have been talking about doing a film together, but so far nothing has been finalised." Santoshi was not available for comment.

Santoshi was launched by Sunny's production company, Vijeyta Films as a director with Ghayal (1990). Ghayal was not only a huge box office hit but also won Sunny the Filmfare Best Actor award for that year. Industry was abuzz with the news that Santoshi manages to bring out the best out of Sunny. The portly director proved the faith in him right with Damini (1993) which fetched Sunny a National Award in the Best Supporting Actor category. Together they also delivered another hit, Ghatak (1996).

Sunny with full faith in Santoshi had handed over the responsibility of launching his younger brother Bobby with Barsaat. When the film flopped, blame game began. The whole industry started talking about how Barsaat lacked the famous Santoshi touch. Santoshi then started belting out interviews about how Sunny's constant interference during the making of the film lead to a mess. The relationship between Sunny and Santoshi soured and both stopped communicating with each other.

Six years later after that, Sunny taking the first step towards reconciling their differences approached Santoshi for a film on Bhagat Singh. Santoshi too readily agreed to do the film. Spoke in the wheel came in the form Bobby, whom Sunny wanted to star in the title role of the freedom fighter. Santoshi put his foot down claiming Bobby to be unsuitable for the role. This lead to a major rift between the two and both went ahead with their respective films on Bhagat Singh. Both these films, Santoshi's The Legend of Bhagat Singh and Sunny produced, 23rd March 1931: Shaheed, released on the same date (7th June, 2002) and eating into each other's business, bombed at the box office. A few months back Santoshi announced his plans on making his film on Prithviraj Chauhan with Ajay Devgan in the lead. Sunny who had been planning a film on the same subject this time did not go ahead with his film. Last heard about Prithviraj Chauhan was Santoshi had postponed his project indefinitely with plans to make Ramayan with Devgan as Ram and Kajol as Sita. Rajkumar Santoshi is presently completing his Ajay - Vidya Balan starrer, Halla Bol. Sunny's next release, Big Brother releases later this month. With their last few films flopping at the ticket window, both Sunny and Santoshi are being seen keen to revive their once famous hit jodi and have therefore come together for a new venture. sorry if posted before.

its bad when people start forcing there opinions, obviously sunny is gonna want bobby to do well but if the guy cant act then its bobbys tough luck why blame the director
