Yes I have liked things which do not have ranveer in it. I have given positive reviews for movies and songs that don't have ranveer in them.

My opinion is how I feel about the video, the song is good but its literally the same song as the original with slighlty different singers. And I am praising the original which does not have ranveer in it, so there you go

Ahan shetty didnt even get a singing or dancing section in the song promo, he's only in it for 2 seconds

I'm with you on this. The song itself is very much near the original. When I listened to the song only, I liked it. It didn't have the same goosebumps feeling that the original gives with the "ae hawa" part, but it was pretty close.

But the video here looks less spontaneous. Even when the non-leads are joining in, there isn't that easy friendship in them that actors like Puneetji and Kulbushanji showed in the original.

And Varun is such a misfit here! My eyes were searching for Akshaye Khanna or someone like him whose eyes moistened while singing "sandeshe aate hain" and his whole face fell. Here you have Varun who is fake sad but with a huge smile on his face throughout. It doesn't elicit the same emotional response that the original elicited.

Varun has done some good acting. October and Badlapur are testaments to that. I was hoping that Border 2 would bring that good acting out again, but so far not seeing it.

I loved it, but i also love the original. Such a nostalgia, if done right, this movie can be easily a blockbuster.

Varunado's PR has already started. Bro can singlehandedly ruin this film. Hopefully not!!

He was like the 10th choice for the film. Vicky Kaushal was the original choice. He declined. Then Bhushans golden eye boy Kartik Aryan was brought on but he wanted Script changes and equal footing to Sunny Paaji. The Dutta's & Anurag Singh threatened to walk out. Bhushan calmly made Kartik understand and started the Sree Leela film with him. Finally, Ayushman was signed and the film announced but he walked out last minute because his woke conscience wouldn't allow him to do a war film. Varun was brought in last minute as a replacement. Should've gone with Sid tbh. Varun's Chapri Image is way too strong.

As far as remakes go we’ve definitely seen worse. Still, this is no where near what the original was. Half the video looks like it was shot in front of a green screen. It’s completely missing that organic and earthy feel of the original.

I still think Sunny and Diljit will walk away with all the praise and credit for this movie. Varun looks like such a misfit. I can’t take that dude seriously here. Ahan wasn’t even shown properly in this song. What kind of a PR nightmare is that?
