Well, I didn't hear the interview Genelia gave... the two kids aren't babies anymore (10 and 8) and certainly cared for by people they know well when Genelia's shooting is longer.

However, it is also right that Deepika is - financially and positionwise - able to stick to certain demands. Nevertheless, I'm sure that she also would try to be as flexible as possible with her working hours when now doing Atlee's and SRK's movies ... or having the baby (+ nanny) with her.

Vanga probably just thought he could vent his frustration the way he did to get his 'little revenge'. He seems to be an overblown example of a prevailing male mindset in India (mostly supported through all male-dominated power systems and social structures - that's also why I loved her role in Singham...she don't let take certain males the bread out of her mouth ).
