Surprisingly Kat has to be the only one who sustained for so long in the industry despite getting involved with Sallu, that's also without knowing proper acting skills and poor dialogue deliveries. It makes me believe that sheer luck literally exists..!! Otherwise look at the other actresses, whoever took shelter of Sallu ever in their career eventually lost their track - be it Sonakshi, Jacqueline, Asin, Sneha Ullal, Zareen Khan, we hardly even remember some of them.

I don't think it was just sheer luck for Katrina. She was in need of some connections. When she realised what powerful backing she has gotten in the form of Salman, she wasn't going to let it go. She definitely tackled a lot of his whims, attitude and dominance over her. And when she was ready to move on from him she successfully maintained good relationship with him. She is shrewd, streetsmart and a tough cookie herself. Salman might have taken some others under his wings, but he can't create Katrina's traits in them. Also the novelty factor is gone. Having said that, Katrina's journey wouldn't be the same without Salman either.

Someone like Katrina who sorely lacks talent but still she had the luck and also the right connections to buy her hype and get her films which were tailor-made to suit her public persona and obvious limitations as a performer(she still can’t speak Hindi to save her life).
But still anyways those popular item numbers will remain her biggest legacy as she will never got the respect as a serious actress like most of her contemporaries and rivals did.
