Well, Aamir dating Fatima (allegedly) wasn’t OK either not just because of their age gap but also because he was her boss. Just last week there was a discussion about how old his latest girlfriend may have been when he first met her while in his 30s. Ranbir and Alia have gotten trolled a lot, and rightfully so, for romanticizing their first meeting because he was 21 and she was 9. The problem with Arjun and Malaika was more about how their relationship started and less about their age difference. Real life people don’t get spared in any way shape or form. All that being said, I disagree with the use of the term pedophilia in this case because the implication that he meant her daughter as a grown up was obvious. It was still a bad joke but context is important.

Here’s one of the main reasons why age differences on screen get a lot of scrutiny. It’s because actors, directors, producers, the whole lot of them, purposefully look for very young actresses when there are plenty of middle aged women who could fill those roles and beautifully too. But misogyny takes over and while Salman at almost 60 romances a 28 year old his female contemporaries like Kajol, Dia, Mahima are doing mom roles. Why? And the biggest irony in all of this, these ladies today would still look significantly younger than the Khans and Akshay and Ajay.

Salman may have said it as a joke, maybe becuase he was annoyed at people mentioning the age difference thing. And yeh if rashmika is fine with it then it's fine, she knowingly is doing a film with a an actor where there is a big age difference.

I just thought bringing rashmikas daughter into it was a bit much, even if it's a joke and he didn't mean it seriously, rashmika isn't even married yet lol, and yes i know he meant when rashmikas daughter is an adult

But at the end of the day if a consenting adult actress is agreeing to do a film with a much older actor then there is legally nothing wrong with it, then its just upto the audience if they like and accept the pairing or not

We can again just chalk this comment up to Salman trying to be human

Bhai earlier used to be very cautious about the age difference with his heroines. He's previously mentioned how it was awkward even romancing Kareena, as he had seen her as a child. Sooraj Brajatya has mentioned that he didn't want Sonam in PRDP and it took weeks to convince him for the same reason.
