Deva will release last day of January, so no problem for both of them and Chhavaa can release at a more fitting date than releasing against Pushpa 2 (who would be quite 'pushy' then smiley2).

Seems like Rashmika will now have the time to equally promote both movies? smiley4

P2 will hog most of the revenue because it is been given free run in terms of screen, if there is a single Hindi film being screened in almost all screens, audience do not have any other option, especially the segment of audience who chose to watch films in theater and this choice is not dictated by which film is showing in theater.. BB3 was able to go head to head with SA because it had almost equal number of screens.

Chhava should have gone head to head with P2, but they did not because they either did not have enough confidence in their film or they could not get enough screens, if Chhava would have been produced by a biiger production house they would have gotten enough screen for Chhava and the film would have flopped or done well based on how good it was.

As far as curiosity is concerned Sambhaji's life is as amazing, sensational and mind boggling , if not more, than any fictional story or fairytale. It would have been very easy to whip up curiosity for Chhava but as I said the producers of Chhava don't seem to understand what they have on hand.

Although I don't think that Pushpa 2 will be what I call a good movie but it will get hyped in every way possible.

There is no need to give any film any due when you are releasing your own film. Respect is ok, but to bend back wards and scurry around for a release date for someone like Sambhaji is unheard of for me.

If Chhava had gone head to head with P2 and P2 had not being as good as it was touted, then all the hype would have fizzled out and Chhava would have come out winner, provided it was agood film.

If P2 had been a good film it would have retained it's audience but Chhava too would have gotten it's share of audience provided it was a good film.

Hence my statement that producers of Chhava do not have confidence in their film

When it had been clear that AA Films got the distribution rights for the Hindi belt (paying reported 200 cr), I think, it was also clear that Chhaava wouldn't get a fair number of screens in that belt...

Well, the Mumbai territory alone powered Tanhaji to a hit status, if the producers cannot strike a deal to ensure screens for Chhava even in Mumbai territory then Maddock and Dinesh Vijan shouldn't be producing this film..

Maybe there still are producers who won't like to resort to certain methods others use...only because India is labeled as a country where corruption and power plays thrive, it doesn't mean that every key player in the filmindustry uses doubtful methods...

That being said, I'm sure that Thadani (AA Films) belongs to those who doesn't shy away from ensuring that he gets the maximum money out of a promising product. (Btw, Tanhaji was also distributed by AA Films)
