The firs post with the tweet is weird. It was a commercially successful movie which received a lot of appreciation by the critics and audiences as well. I am not sure what they mean by people are not supporting it.

It will never do the numbers that SRK, Salman, (Ranbir, Ranveer with top directors) movies do because as great an actor as Vicky is, he doesn't have that superstar pull YET. It's just fact.

People wanting awards for him, well that's going to be difficult this year with the solid competition in the category. 50-50 between him and Vikrant for critics award I feel. I'm open to being pleasantly surprised though as I really like his work.

Sam Bahadur got positive reviews, and Vicky looked stellar in the trailers. Although I have not seen the movie in theaters, I am excited and eager to see it.

The current trend for theatrical releases is hyper-violent and hyper-masculine films. There was a time when only romances were big. There was also a phase where small-budget small, town films were successful.

Meghna Gulzar's previous film based on patriotism and espionage, Raazi, was critically and commercially successful.

Unfortunately, Sam Bahadur was released during a down trend for films of is style.
