This is the half truth. Composers are very well compensated. The labels, T-series, contention is that singers are easily replaceable with technological advances and other than a B-praak or an Arijit don't add much Value to the song. If one doesn't sing, they have no issue getting a no-name to sing and they won't miss a beat. Financially, they feel these singers have other avenues to get compensated like Live Concerts where these singers make a killing even if they have just 1 or 2 hit songs.
It's no doubt a monopoly and the Singers don't have much of a choice but what Armaan fails to mention is that these singers still make tons of money through other avenues like Social Media & Live Concerts if they're *Lucky* enough to get Chosen for a Hit song.
not many can perform live to earn heavy ...i dont think ankit tiawri / Muhammad Irfan has any demand in live shows despite of having few superhit songs.....so on and so forth ...but if singers earn money for that 1 hit song they are singing in stage, they would not be singing that one song , they would be perorming 20 other songs as well.... but music companies and label earn tripple by doing nothing as upto now when ever singer sing in whatever avenue the music label gets the money for the song ..... composers like shankar ehsan loy and saleem suleman are vocal about not compensated on good terms, saleem suleman said they have took films from us the labels and asked others to not work with us ......they started their indpi music , and tthey are making better songs than bollywood released popular songs ........i havent seen shankar ehsan loy and saleem suleman as active since last 10 years , they arent getting much chances ....they are capable to make quality music ......pritam deserve where he is but he has got much films this year rocky rani , dunki , tu jhooti me makar , .....sachin jigar , saleem suleman and shankar ehsan loy not as busy since last couple of years ....despite making better songs than pritam off late albums i.e tere vaste falak se
