Actually, I'm not astonished at all about the toxic climate in the Bachchan's premises (going on since years, I think)
The ones for whom Jaya renounced to leave Amitji during the times Rekha entered their marriage, are dead now (right?)
...and I guess, frustrations accumulated...
Abhishek may also have realised that Aish's love may not have been an unconditional one...and he may have regretted more than being the only Bachchan son...
