The worst - Archies.
It's not a bad movie, to be honest. There are moments where Zoya's magic shines as a director. The supporting cast is great, and Vedang is a talent to watch out for. However, I've never seen a movie being so let down by the lead cast alone. The movie picks up every time the three leads are not on screen; that's how bad they are. They don't know how to deliver dialogues. They looked like they didn't know how to speak before this movie – it's as if they are speaking for the first time ever. How did Zoya let this happen? The only explanation I can think of is that the leads were imposed on her by the industry, and she was so pissed off that she said, Yeah, give them to me, and I'll show the world how bad they are.
The best - Dhak Dhak
This film has some of the best performances by Ratna, Dia Mirza, and the other two leads. It's a movie about self-discovery through travel, beautifully capturing the charm of North India. A heartwarming feminist tale about women's struggles portrayed in a beautiful and heartwarming way. The music is one of the best of the year. It truly deserves the hype that Archies is getting.
