From this to our current state?

I mean what is “good for a debutante” ?…are we giving ppl an easy pass coz debutants aren’t meant to be good

This was aishwarya in her debut - it wasn’t the most flawless performance but man was she magnetic and graceful or what

https://youtu.be/wzYrZg2vmss?si=kn8H4tOYicti8dCt

so we went from this, to SOTY series and now Archie’s …

The consistently falling standards and the easy passes they get for their first films are probs why we are stuck with the current lot 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Too much money. Yesteryear actors were not as rich as the 90's lot. Most of them were bad at money management so had to leverage only goodwill to get their kids launched. They had to train them well before seeking favours for them. 90's actors have tonnes of money so they just find people who can front the project while they finance it. Launching their kid is an "investment" aaj 20 cr kharcha karenge 2 saal mein influencing se paise double kardega/gi bachcha!

It's called Marketing of product

Earlier there was just sales of product.

Earlier just a product was launched n it's upto buyer u want or not.

For marketing a need is created amongst consumer n we r manipulated to buy the product. Same is happening with nepo kids marketing.

A well build narrative is set n audience mind is fed with PR tactics..some r like:

1. Nepo kids have so much performance pressure n compared to their successful parents..generation of sympathy for them

2. Nepo kids r subjected to trolls n hatred hence again generation of sympathy.

3. Making viewers feel guilty that u can't judge them in one movie. They r kids n deserve 4-5 chances to improve.

4. All promotional tactics calling them stars even though they r flops n viewers mind is made to believe they r stars.

Viewers start accepting the narrative gradually n accept mediocrity as normal.

It is the easy way to blame the newcomers about lowered standards...it's not t h e m who set the standards, imo.

As long as the "sycophants" are those who make the movies (investors, producers, directors, casting), I agree...they are the ones who lower the standards first...and probably the audience follow suit (last example = Animal)
