People are making memes against woman, Feminism, and laughing at abuse. Idealising him.

Vanga presented that pyscho as a hero and Men are lapping it up.

This celebration of box office success might feel like validating such people more.

I know you don't support Vanga or the film or the characters. But still let us nor celebrate this at all

It's just send out a wrong Message.

I have reliaze it and I hope you will understand too.

Thanks.

When the director has presented the pyscho as hero why blame the country saying it isn't ready..blame the movie.

Country appreciates good movies too..it isn't a single entity. It's made up of different people with different choices

I haven't seen the movie, but I read somewhere that Ranbir is finally getting out of 'soft charachters' and taking on a manly persona. That's problematic on so many levels.

Indian audience already had misogyny entrenched in it. Rather than fighting that, we are focusing on the symptom of the problem. The problem itself needs to be addressed.

I see only men celebrating movie. Women influencer r criticising the movie. In theatre reaction videos too it's just men.

Problem with audience is they start idolising the toxic character. Movie is about father- son relationship n revenge from father's shooter. Why does misogyny had to be shown.

What makes Vanga a particularly worse person than most of Bollywood? He is an edge lord and is capitalizing on misogyny. Sure. But Ranbir has worked with multiple directors accused of sexual assault, like Santoshi, Hirani, and Luv Ranjan. His previous biggest hit was him whitewashing a terrorist. And Ranbir is not quite the only one. It will be a very long list if we start listing problematic people in Bollywood, including actual criminals and films that are problematic, whether for glamorizing criminals or being very misogynistic.

For me personally, it is the egregious and intentional nature of what he does. It feels like he loathes women and wants to show them and gloat about how much violence he can get away with.

In the grand scheme of things, there are many shitty and problematic people in Bollywood. And perhaps other people find others more problematic. But he specifically hits the rawest nerve.

But I am aware that I cannot stop people from celebrating what they want. At the same time, I cannot help but feel saddened and disappointed and expressing it. If it were irl, I probably would hope to have constructive discussions on why celebrating Animal feels so hurtful. But we're not set for constructive discussions here. Fortunately, at least in irl folks close to me are neither watching nor celebrating Animal. And I guess that should count.

I kinda said the same thing and bashed by a particular member,( may be die hard ranbir fan)

May b after srk,i love watching ranbir's film.

But this movie and kabir singh made me sick.

This type of movie should not be encouraged or celebrated now a days specially because many..many people has changed, their mentality, this society!

This. I cannot stand that Shah Rukh is doing Dunki with Hirani of all people. And we need to hold people responsible

Actually no

It’s not just mysoginist men “celebrating the film”

Actress Trisha Krishnan for eg , who is the most long standing and popular actress in Tamil cinema currently , who also shot down an actor who made vile comments abt her recently, posted a story admiring the film/ranbir …

She then deleted it (I’m assuming coz of the political incorrectness that comes with liking a film like this and the appearance of it)

My point is exactly this …why should people incl accomplished, successful women feel ashamed to admire a film that they like? Why should their opinions be controlled to this extent?

They should say what they feel like abt a film without the threat of being judged
