"Naqaab" tries to be a thrilling mystery, but unfortunately, it falls flat in several aspects. Despite its promising premise, the execution lacks finesse, resulting in a convoluted and unsatisfying experience.

The film revolves around a love triangle between Karan (Bobby Deol), Sophia (Urvashi Sharma), and Vicky (Akshaye Khanna). The plot sets off with the potential for suspense and intrigue, but it quickly becomes apparent that the screenplay fails to maintain a coherent narrative. The twists and turns end up feeling forced and contrived.

One of the major flaws of "Naqaab" lies in its character development. The protagonists come across as one-dimensional and lack depth, making it difficult for viewers to connect with or invest in their journeys. Bobby Deol's portrayal of Karan is unconvincing, lacking the charisma and intensity required for the role. Urvashi Sharma's performance as Sophia is equally disappointing, as her character fails to leave a lasting impression. Akshaye Khanna, known for his acting prowess, tries his best to salvage the film but is let down by weak writing.

Moreover, the pacing of the film is inconsistent. The first half drags on with unnecessary song-and-dance sequences that do little to contribute to the story. The narrative picks up slightly in the second half, but the climax feels rushed and lacks a satisfying resolution. The lack of proper buildup and character development undermines the impact of crucial plot reveals, leaving the audience underwhelmed.

Another aspect that hampers the film is the dialogue. The lines often veer into melodrama, failing to strike a balance between suspense and realism. The attempts at creating tension and suspense fall flat, making the film feel contrived and clichéd.

Visually, "Naqaab" showcases slick cinematography and stylish sets, but these superficial elements cannot compensate for the film's narrative shortcomings. The glamorous aesthetics do little to elevate the overall experience when the story and characters fail to engage.

This song is the only saving grace

I hated it and turned it off halfway. Lots of things went wrong in terms of directing that totally hampered the movie.

Found it fun back then with the plot twists etc 😆 But now I find it superficial and wafer thin in so many ways. I still think Lord Bobby did a pretty good job though 😎

Imagine watching this in the theatre. Like I did. It was an annoying film & I wasted money watching it.

The lame plot and movie aside, Urvashi Sharma was very pretty and charming, wonder why she did not got anymore chances.

Same goes for the beautiful Geeta Basra.
