Gave me nightmares 😔

Actually, I'm not really a 'fan' of Mahesh Bhatt movies, so I didn't watch Sadak, but Sadashiv plays a transgender role there as a pimp which could be interesting as such...

He might not overshadowed leads but he was definetly more popular. THE Most iconic villain in bollywood history. He set the bar so high. We still remember his dialogues. I don't think there is any villain in bollywood who got so many popular dialogues in one movie. For me it's more about gabbar thakur story than Jay veeru.

Although sholay was a movie where every character was famous with his dialogues. But gabar Singh was definitely the most popular one.

We even have a song on the name of gabbar Singh.

Gabbar certainly became the most iconic.

I think this is a huge problem in Tollywood. They overpower the heros these days, and the excellent villain arcs of the earlier decades no longer exist which is a shame. Besides the big stars Kollywood seems to have avoided this marking but in Tollywood there's certainly been a downgrade in fleshing out characters apart from the main one.

At that time he and Thakur did end up overshadowing others.

There is a reason why Amjad got Parle G biscuit ad with Gabbar ki pasand tagline and was invited at various stage shows and concerts to repeat Gabbar act in 70s itself. He was wildly mimicked. And easily the most mimicked villain until Amrish in Mr India.

He is also the most mimicked of all characters in Sholay though we still have mimicry of Jai, Veeru, Jailer, Thakur, Basanti, Mausi, Soorma Bhopali, Ahmed Chacha, Kalia, Sambha too.

Aushutosh Rana, Sangharsh and Dushman. That man doesn't get enough credit for the trauma he caused to us 90s kids 😳
