Just because someone like Ranbir proposes doesn’t mean he’s committed and will walk down the aisle. Add to it the rumors of his alleged fling with Shraddha around January of last year and yea it is feasible that Alia felt the need to get pregnant despite being “engaged”.

The escort-theory can't exactly be separated from the heroine theory. Rumors were always flying around about her being in tears and her mother forcing her back. I don't think she was protected enough or mature enough to take care of herself at the time of her debut. My theory is that she was probably emotionally manipulated by her mother. Both Kareena and her father mentions her as being the nice, biddable child in the family. Though she was no saint and was known for her entitled behavior with her co-stars.

Rishi might very well have changed his mind about Neetu working, considering the many mediocre actresses he worked with in the 80s. That wooden Farha (Tabu's sister) alone is enough to change his mind. Also with the dissolution of the joint family in the 80s and the death of patriarchs like Raj Kapoor, each household would naturally re-examine rules which were previously considered as set in stone.

Because after the kwk fallout Kapoors extended the olive branch by sending her flowers n notes on her successes. And by the time she did yjhd n tamasha they all had buried the hatchet and were on good terms with eachother.
