Do celebs overdo traits that make em famous?

I sometimes think some celebs tend to overdo things they find, people like about them.

For eg, Madhuri smiles way too much and often keeps dancing everywhere or posts dance wali Insta reels, her app was also an online dance school and all her old videos, award performances are full of her smiling, laughing all time, even if not required.

I guess she has taken the compliments on dance and smile too seriously.

Rekha is another one who seems to have taken ageless compliment too literally and still dresses like Umrao Jaan in real life. Hema also seems to have taken dream girl or timeless beauty tag seriously and keeps showing off hwr eyes, beauty to camera at even parliament and election rallies.

There's Dharam who seems to have taken handsome tag seriously and still sports jet black dyed hair and smiles at cameras and poses like it is still early 1970s.

Aamir seems to have taken Mr perfectionist or thinking man's star tag too seriously and tries to project pseudo intellectual image in all interviews, hardly loosens up, starts getting technical on filmmaking aspects or speaks on some issue.

Amitabh seems to speak in stylised tone a lot more, and often goes a bit high pitched ever since he's learnt people love his booming baritone. He has a style and accent of speaking even in interviews or live shows.

SRK begins to crack wisecracks, jokes anywhere (which at times backfires or causes controversies) ever since he has been praised for his sense of humour and wit.

Kangana has taken her 'self made outspoken woman, deshbhakt' thing to another level as well and always acts as if she is on mission to expose industry.

Preity and Kajol seem to have taken their bubbly tag too seriously and still behave that cute/outspoken, bubbly way.

While celebs have their own speciality or image that makes them stand out, I feel some of them, after a point of time, simply begin to overdo it, which makes it look artificial and less organic.

Do you also feel weary or get sense of 'overdoing' when stars behave a certain way even till old age?

Jhanvi keeps making trending reels though she still sounds annoying..

Salman keeps showing off his dabangi everywhere but gets so much scared with real threats...

Ranveer keep doing his antics n dresses weirdly..

Kajol keeps laughing everywhere for no reasons

Kjo keep his snaky 🐍 attitude because ppl love to criticize him..

People praise them for it, and they want to be praised so they do it again.

Isn't that a human trait in general...when one gets constant praise for a certain trait, gesture, achievement or whatever, one tend to repeat it.

Celebs and other people often in the public eye do it, too, more often, for many to see. Does anyone think that SRK would still do his signature gesture if people wouldn't somehow demand it/cheer about it.

Actors/actresses build/get an image and I think, the more prominent he/she is the more there is danger that catering to the image becomes an automatism.

Yet - as I find it understandable - it doesn't bother me...so, even if SRK spreads his arms the next 20 years and gets still aplauded for that, it's okay (to me at least). Same is with Madhuri's smiling and dancing, Amitji's bariton etc., etc. ...

Well noticed. Malaika and Shilpa are kind of obsessed with showing how fit and flat, slim, trim they look even at this age despite being moms. Shilpa particularly loves to keep showing off her washboard abs.

Then there are Shabana, Shefali and Vidya, Nandita who are busy showing off their intelligent, progressive woman image or cause champion image. Or some thinking woman star type image.

Pankaj Tripathi seems hell bent on showing his aam aadmi, rooted in small town ethos, humble man image.

Ash is all about beauty and poses as if she is still on Miss World stage.

Javed is obsessed with showing off his intellect and acts as some polymath, expert on all issues.

Sushmita is forever showing off her bindaas woman, with big heart who lives on own terms. Sometimes I find her shayari a bit too much.

There's Akki who is always trying to sound funny or like a middle class man at heart.

Twinkle tries too hard to sound witty.

Ajay is always trying to give off that intense cum laid back vibe or look like he is disinterested in interviews.

Sanjay of late, seems to behave as if he is real life Munnabhai or some martyr who went to jail.

Kareena and Sonam always sound like high society snobs.

Alia is probably still cashing her child woman image.

Karan is also always sounding like a high society snob all the time.

I think one can keep it controlled and not look like they are trying too hard or doing it even when not necessary.

For eg, Madhuri smiles way too much and shows off her teeth all time. Her old videos at award shoes at times look OTT given how much she opens her mouth and laughs all time. Like okay, you know you are admired for your 1000 watt smile but you do not have to flaunt your teeth like a toothpaste ad all the time. You can probably be a bit more subtle, no? And MD was a talented actor. She was never just a dancer. So why reduce self to just dance?

SRK is a versatile actor but IMO it is sad he has reduced himself to his romantic image with outstretched arms.

And Amitabh has forgotten how to speak normally at all. He and Shatru speak in highly stylised manner, which sometimes feels artificial and fake when you hear their interviews. Shatrughan Sinha has similar knack of being obsessed with own language skills, voice and presumed wit. Though I find his jokes stale and sexist now.

Raaj Kumar was another one whose interviews also sounded like he was speaking a filmi dialogue, given the highly stylised way he spoke.

Absolutely. They think they’ve figured out the formula to success. But the only key to success is constantly evolving with time.

I think it sometimes backfires if they overdo it. For eg, Juhi Chawla took the Chirpy Chawla tag too seriously and always behaved childlike or overacted. Hardly did subtle or mature roles even as she grew older. Only later she realised and tried something different in Gulabi Gang, Teen Deewarein, My Brother Nikhil.

It had become irritating and looked rather OTT when she did that chirpy act in One 2 Ka 4, Ishq, Mr and Mrs Khiladi and looked too mature to behave like a kid.

And Kajol's bubbly act in interviews is a put off now. I like her as an actor when she tries different stuff like VIP2. But not her screeching in interviews like a school kid.

In this sense I appreciate Zeenat and Waheeda for embracing their age and not trying to act like Guide or Hare Krishna Hare Ram mode even at old age. They have guts to sport their white hair too and spectacles too.
