Ha ha! I think, Mahesh Bhatt really liked/wanted SRK to act like that...he made also Duplicate with him.
It's nothing that bothers me...there are actors very famous for their overacting as a part of their acting register (like the US actor Jerry Lewis).
To be frank...overacting is an inherent part of Hindi Cinema... but I understand why you bring SRK as an example 😉
