This should be experienced in theaters , Ayan & his team did a lot of hard work on visuals and it showed. It also helped that majority of the visually grand scenes were in the later part of second half so the audience would remember it more after finishing it. SRK's cameo was fine but the dialogues given to him and overall in the movie at a lot of scenes were cringe. Film really kicks on with Nagarjuna's entry to Ranbir's arrival at Guru's ashram. There wasn't much for the actors to do here but Ranbir was good as the protagonist. Alia was essentially playing an arm candy whom Shiva has to get out of trouble everytime. Mouni Roy was fine as the main antagonist.

They did a lot of build up for Dev and Amrita's characters so the hype for the second part would be even bigger.
