Some observations on watching LSC second time

Watched it for the second time today as I took my parents.

1. First half is very engaging but second half drags. Movie could have been trimmed a bit.

2. Movie relies on emotions, but the emotional pitch is not consistent. For example- Today I felt the second half doesn't evoke the emotions it was intended to.

3. Aamir's performance is superb, and so is Kareena's. Nothing to complain of there.

4. Mona Singh is fabulous, the best performance is probably hers.

5. Comedy doesn't work

I guess I was looking at it through a more critical lens today. Overall, I would still say the movie deserves to be watched at least once because it's heart is in the right place.

Another aspect which I really liked is the Indian context of the last 40 years has been woven in very seamlessly. In fact, the first half is close to flawless. It's the second half which lets the movie down.
