oh, definitely the second half of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun where they think everything's suddenly "solved" the moment Nisha says yes to filling in her dead sister's shoes.
there are oh so many but I'll get to them tomorrow cuz it's late here.
Raja Ki Aayegi Baarat
This film from start to finish was all kinds of WTF. The grinch-looking-hero rapes the heroine in public and instead of sentencing his di*ck to be skinned with a vegetable peeler and chopped off to be fed to his equally regressive family, the judge instead orders him to marry his victim. He punches her around, cheats on her, and devises a plan to kill her off. What does she do? Saves his life, puts her own life in danger by sucking the poison out of his hairy ankle, teaches him sindoor ki taqqat, and makes the grinch realise that patni-ki-pyar-ki-taqqat can overcome everything, even rape. At the end, she forgives everyone despite being bottled in the head by her father in law. ❤️ Why, you may ask? Well

Any movie where a survivor of rape is married off to her rapist. Apparently there are quite a few BW movies with the same storyline.
Similar thing happened with Kareena's character in "Bewafa" and that horrible ending didn't help either 🤢Originally posted by: iBleedPink

Yup. One that FF already mentioned and another one was this lesser known movie titled "Benaam Baadshah". I made a similar thread on this a long time back and it had the most ridiculous concept. And guess what the most horrible part was? Juhi's character, who was raped by Anil Kapoor on her wedding night had this twisted as fcuk mentality that she had to marry him in order for him to rectify his mistake,I was dumbfounded at the sheer stupidity of her character and was like W*F was wrong with her. Instead of getting her rapist punished she was on a hunt spree for him as she was desperate to be his wife and even got married to him, had a child with him as well, that whole movie was sick and I couldn't believe known artists like Juhi and Anil chose to do that crap 🤢Originally posted by: DetachednNumb

There's also a cringe af movie starring Mithun and Madhuri called Pyaar Ka Devta, in which Mithun gets his sister married to her rapist so as to reform him or some bs. It also has a very problematic dowry scene. Kanan and Biswa covered this movie in their Pretentious Movie Reviews.
A lot more WTF movies with similar storyline exist. I don't understand what twisted fascination BW had with reforming spoilt men. Oh wait, ye toh rozi roti hein apun ke society mein.
Every Rajshree production movies. Now when I watch MPK, HAHK, HSsK, the dialogues make me cringe. The message we get from Barjatya movies are like women are meant to cook, feed an entire mohalla like family, giving birth to bacche, no matter how educated you are. Cringe level ♾️
And also movies where they show stalking, harassing etc are different means to pursue your love.
Jayesh Bhai Jordar
You know what pisses the crap out of me is films like HDDCS, Namaste London, ninnu kori (telugu), mouna ragam (Tamil)
I know these are all hits and well acclaimed movies in their industries but I hate hate the fact that they romanticised forced marriages
Not arranged, forced
The bride is legit depressed or crying on her wedding day and no one gives a shit or has the sense to call it off and give her time to heal or deal with her emotions/ breakups ….
Coz in the end they show that guy she married is a “gem” so elders must always be right when they force u into a marriage rite? NO
