Given that we have so much diversity, right from North-East to Kerala, JK to WB, what according to these ppl is 'looking Indian'?

The overwhelming majority of Indians are brown-skinned.

But even the 'brown-skinned' one's have way too many variations. And even if the rest are not in majority, that doesn't mean they don't look 'Indian'. Indian is a nationality. Just like American.

If OP wants to talk about ethnicity or even skin color, then that's how the topic should be framed. Otherwise folks from HP, JK, most of Punjab, Uttarakhand, the entire North East don't look 'Indian' enough as per the OT.

I think your right abt me framing the question wrong. Actually since I hear it this way from my friends, so it’s kinda stuck in my mind like that. Bollywood basically lacks representation of brown skinned ppl. It shows mainly ppl of Punjabi ethnicity and that’s why it has so many movies based off in Punjab

No, Punjabis and other North Indians look Indian even though fair-skinned. Ash, Kareena and Karishma don't. They don't have the desi-ness in their faces. Their bone structure, skin colour and eye colour--makes them look European or Middle Eastern.

may be it’s because of westernisation of Bollywood movies.

Indians have certain features and bone structures. Indians typically have softer features compared to Caucasians. That's how you can distinguish a fair-looking desi from a very tanned European. Even though the Indian guy may be very fair, you can easily tell he's Indian.

So yes, there is a thing such as 'looking Indian', or 'looking South Asian'. You can easily identify a South Asian when you see one. Ash and Kareena don't look desi. Indians, no matter how fair, have a brownish or yellowish tinge to their skin. They don't have Caucasoid complexions. Also, their bone structures are different.

Srk, Aamir, Salman look as Indian as possible…

Deepika, aishwariya, priyanka all look Indian…

In male leads maybe only Hrithik who looks ethnically ambiguous .., or else all top 10 male stars look Indian or at least south Asian…

not sure where these comparisons are coming from… maybe goras who think all Indian movie stars should look like slumdog millionaire cast 🙄
