I usually have mixed feelings about movies but this one, this movie, I am 100% in love with! If you ask me to describe it in one word, I would say authentic. It's a movie like no other, with a flavor that is completely its own.
This movie made me laugh and cry every time I watch it -- which is a feat that very few movies have accomplished (for me). Be it Sid's coming-of-age story or the romance between the two characters Sid and Aisha, the scenes felt like a breath of fresh air. The dialogues were so in sync with Gen Y and their lingo, it's a movie that defined our generation.
What a charming film -- what charming characters. I'm in love with this movie. I don't get bored no matter how many times I watch it. All the supporting characters, be it Supriya Pathak as the emotional mom, Anupam Kher as the strict but doting dad, and Ranbir's college friends did full justice to their roles.
the best scene for me? Aisha's birthday eve, when Sid comes over and the way they bond over tea and cake.
The acting is superb, Ranbir and Konkona live their roles again with so much authenticity and love. The way these 2 characters fall in love defies all logic and yet their pairing crackles with chemistry so raw.
Thoughts??
