Did Ranveer clarify why exactly he rejected Kabir Singh? I think he prolly did because 83 is a much better movie and has more scope for acting and BO success (which didn't pan out but eh). Although I'm glad if this is true, Kabir Singh is a movie beneath him. Shahid himself was unbearable in it.

If this is true then he did good thing. 83 much better movie than Kabir Singh (which is yet again a copy oops sorry remake of south Film).

If you ask me i can watch only one film between 83 and Kabir Singh .. i will pick 83...

83 is a flop because of it budget... They collected 150+ crores only on box office and digital rights separate but due to pandamic the budget went up and they could not cover it only based on box office. Whoever watched 83 liked it.

It was true according to the director of Kabir Singh. He approached Ranveer for this role but at that time Ranveer was just coming out of Khilji character and he said didn't want to do another intense role so soon.

The character Kabir Singh was supposed to be unbearable and unlikable

I much prefer Vijay's portrayal of Arjun Reddy than Shahid's, Kabir Singh. The character being unbearable and unlikeable has nothing to do with this. I found Shahid insufferable in the character.

Good for him, I say. I couldn’t have tolerated him as a despicable hero.

Yes. Vijay Devarakonda has a certain charm that added to the character Arjun Reddy

Nevertheless

Anupama is gonna interview him on FC with sentences like “ranveer , I must say I loved your work in Jayeshbhai…I mean U were phenomenal …that *insert scene* was just fab…tell me , does the burden of stardom eclipse the actor in you?”

And ranveer will act all smugly shy and give an “awe shucks ….I must look humble but in my head I’m da caprio ka chota bhai when it comes to acting * expression and go on saying “Anupama mam I can’t tell u how much this film challenged me as an actor …I went to all the villages in gujrath and locked myself up in a sarpanch’s house to become the character ….my wife got so concerned …blah blah *insert relationship plugs, words like craft, graph etc”

And the charade continues

Ranveer thinks no one can catch this charade but everyone can see right through his smug sincerity…😂😂

I am glad he didn't do Kabir Singh

though 83 was not the blockbuster we expected I loved watching the film
