Katrina actually stopped interacting with Alia and would barely acknowledge her on social media for well over a year after Alia’s relationship with Ranbir was out in the open and couldn’t be chalked up to rumors anymore. I think that was Alia’s interview with Filmfare with a headline quote “Ranbir is all heart”. What’s funny is that Alia posted that cover on her insta and Katrina had actually liked it first and then unliked it. One can assume that she liked the picture first and realized what the headline was later and unliked it. It also makes you wonder what Alia had told Katrina about all the rumors about her and Ranbir up until then 🤷🏻‍♀️. If this was not a real friendship then someone forgot to tell Katrina about it.

Alia of course continued to pretend that they were friends. So much so that at one point during Yoga Fitness Week she did a video of a few yoga poses in Ranbir’s balcony and then tagged Katrina in the video. I was also highly amused by Varun’s statement on KWK when he came with Katrina and Karan was pressing her about Alia and Ranbir. Varun suddenly said screw everyone else, they are doing what they want to do so why should Katrina worry about them. I’m paraphrasing of course but I remember the “screw everyone else” phrase.

If Zoya doesn’t use some of this in Jee Le Zaraa she has failed as a filmmaker 😂. I kid of course, maybe 😉.

I am feeling that Rk actually wanted to date Alia, otherwise he would have easily use this single comment against her.. Very weird, if someone thinks it is great to be single then be single

They were not long-term, close friends. Celebrity friendships are different and vain. Both have nothing in common- they bonded because Katrina found her cute and saw her more like a little sis. Had she been a close friend I doubt things would have unfolded so peacefully and Katrina would have not given them their blessings.

Alia spoke about her crush on Ranbir on KWK, she admitted in several interviews that she had thought herself as Ranbir's bride. Wasn't this public knowledge at that point? Unless people assumed that Alia was delusional, this doesn't make sense.

I think people assumed it was just a teenage crush and also that Alia was saying it tongue and cheek. Specially after she started dating Sid. I know on couple of occasions she said things like how she no longer has a crush on Ranbir and people are making too much of her old comments. Of course once she started dating him she went back to her old comments and insisted she always had a crush on him because it played out as he’s always been the one.

Even pc and dp use to praise eachother to skies and call eo besties.

Jeez people should stop protraying Katrina as some abhala naari bechaari who was "wronged" She is anything but that. She and ranbir had clear break up. Ranbir can date whoever he wants after that.

Alia and katrina were never friends. That was a PR. Alia s real friends are her girl gang and that's all.

Ranbir Alia are two consenting adults. They want to be eachother. Nobody else gets to have a say in that.

That's sneaky. I hadn't heard of her retracting her statements at any point so was confused.

To add, I think you can't dismiss this entirely because even if it was a joke, I think putting it into the ether about wanting to date someone still carries some weight. They all knew what was to come, of the friendship or the eventual RK-Alia relationship.
