Definitely Paris, don't think I'd ever want to visit the US, maybe see the Rockies or Utah but much rather go to Canada if I'm traveling that far.
Wow....the contempt is real if you don't even wanna visit the US, let alone move here.😆 Paris is known for people being super cold to non-French speakers and Paris metro is extremely overwhelming if not a nightmare to navigate for English speakers.
There are so many beautiful sites within the US, I don't know why anyone would pick Utah of all places for an adventure.

Their into that weird stuff 😆
Vegas , Disney world, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, even Detroit lol
Are fun places
Right now NYC is not safe
Unprovoked attacks,, Murders for no reason, face getting slashed by blade or knife by criminals let out of prison is increasing
Recent attack was an unprovoked one ( like all recent ones) where a man rubbed feces all over a woman's face in subway... But it was in Bronx not NYC
He walked out free...
Bronx is in the NYC. NYC is made of five boroughs - Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, and Manhattan.
Depending on who you are and how you present - you're going to be at risk of unprovoked attacks somewhere or the other. There is definitely a rise in hate crimes against East Asians in the NYC subways - but as long as you stick to Manhattan you will be fine.

It was a genuine question .... Utah is scenic and has a bunch of national parks I guess. I can see why some people would pick it as their top spot .... esp if they love hiking/camping and all things outdoors.
I agree with your list except Detroit. I don't know much about it except the violence and houses that sell for a dollar.😆

You're right... I meant to say Bronx, not Manhattan...
Ever since catch and release was mandated in Jan 2020 (or bail reform or whatever it is called) they say all kinds of crimes have increased manyfold not just hate crimes ( anti Semitic attacks have increased too) but also unprovoked attacks regardless of race...
(Sometimes the same person is arrested nd released multiple times in a single day for various crimes)
LIke slashing women's faces with knife for no reason , punching and knocking down old ladies walking down the street...
Actually these kinds of attacks increased during the second term of Mayor De Blasio itself... It wasreported almost every day in the local news...
But barely mentioned in the media
Amid a surge in some New York City violent crime in Dec 2021, Bank of America asked their staffers to "dress down" so as to not attract attention as they make their way to B of A’s tower at 1 Bryant Park.
Can you imagine being asked not to dress up cz the streets have become less safe?
Wall Street bigwigs continued to encourage younger staffers to come into the office — but to do so with caution.
One top executive at a large money management firm even began carrying a Taser as he commutes to his Midtown office
Some companies like Citibank started offering employees private shuttles so they can avoid public transportation altogether. And most major banks will offer employees car service if they work after hours.
It’s not just Midtown where crime has taken center stage. A Wall Street source who works downtown told "it’s been a topic of conversation on the floor frequently over the last few months.”
“Some people I work with have been accosted … I’d say it’s becoming frequent, if not common,” the source said. “There’s probably a dozen incidents that I saw, or have been involved in,” the person said — mostly verbal, but some physical, the person said.
Never wanted to visit Paris let alone live there. NYC is great for a visit but I will choose it simply because it is the city that is closest in character/atmosphere to my own. I can also drive there if I don't want to spend the money on a plane ticket. NYC will feel like home for me more than anywhere else I guess.

Aye, guilty, hold my hand up to that!
Guess it's the superiority complex which deters me, from relatives who live there and in general plus the stories posted by Betts are scary. Not saying racism doesn't occur in the UK but being a multicultural hub, you get people in your corner easily that will stand up for you on the tube etc.
I've been to Normandy, was forced to speak to grocers at a market during the school trip. If they can deal with imbecilic pre-teens and my constant 'Je voidrais this, that and the other' with patience and kindness then I think Paria can't e drastically different.
A friend posted scenic trails of Zion National Park on insta recently, which is why I listed Utah. There's Colorado too but Canada has Alberta, so if I'm spending similar air fare, the latter would win.
By what I have seen in movies and tv shows will prefer NYC over Paris. Not just will.. actually love NYC.😆
Going by the comments in this thread as well as what I have read in news both are not worth visiting these days because of surging crime activities.
Living there is out of option (for me) because both are (damn) expensive.
Kismat mai hua to shayad visit marenge kabhi.
