Mine is Mile Sur mera tumhara too.

And same, everyone in the family praised her to skies. Totally justified.

I fell in love with her for Aey mere watan ke logo. Every time, that song makes me cry.

I played that yesterday on TV and told my daughter all about Lata ji.

She was already a legend when many of us were born so difficult to pinpoint a single memory about her but I do remember watching Meena Kumari singing Ajeeb Dastan Hai from Dil Apna Aur Preet Parayi on Television.
