NO.
Indian society is very conservative.
A society where even Thappad is called some ploy to break families or QSQT was accused of spoiling youth and encouraging them to elope or PK, OMG are labeled ploy to attack religion, TZP, 3 Idiots were accused of spreading hate against teachers and encouraging kids and parents to blame teachers and MNIK was labeled a ploy to promote love jihad- you expect film industry in that country to go woke?
They are rather regressing and even hate on old films or suspect some agenda in every ad or film.
LGBTQ couples in Indian cinema? Impossible without protests. Fire has still never been allowed to release even on pirated DVDs in India. It was based on lesbian relation.
I have yet to see actors who are publicly atheist. Apart from Kamal Haasan I never saw actors who admitted to being atheist and refused to go religious places to promote films.
It will take another century for Bollywood to go woke.
They get backlash for progressive ads and films. There is intense pressure on them right now to promote traditions and reject wokeness.
