Somehow I doubt you would take that so easily if Muslim leaders were calling for evil shit like that but since its Hindus its like "calm down and let bigots continue to do what they want". These Hindu religious leaders have a lot of influence: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/24/world/asia/hindu-extremists-india-muslims.html

If Rana is a bigot then EVERY BJP politician and their rabid supporters are bigots too but again your hypocrisy shows. Its a typical bhakt bs whining about the evil leftists for daring to want a united India and not discriminating against minorities.

I don't discriminate against anyone but bigots who deserve it. Stay mad!

They do..and everyone here was silent when I pointed it out

Yeah the stupidity of bhakts really irks me, sad to see them drag down my great country with their hate but if that's what the majority wants it's their choice. Pointless to discuss this further I suppose

Ugh. Let's then make movies with only religion-neutral, caste-neutral, gender-neutral, race-neutral, class-neutral characters so no one is offended.

Heck, going forward, only android films should be allowed. Or will that be anti-machine propaganda?

Someone forwarded me tweets on Minnal Murali of all films, calling it Hinduphobic because the villain is (presumed) Hindu. Forget the fact he had the author-backed role and Jaison/Murali is portrayed as a bit of an idiot in the beginning. smiley36

How the heck is it difficult to understand there are bad people in every religion and portraying a villain of one religion or the other is not particularly phobic? That terrorism in the name of Islam is a real problem? I should add as is terrorism under the name of any religion. Or does this woman want to present Muslims only as good people? That, IMO, would be extremely patronizing.

IMHO both. Verbal extremism and toxicity often encourage and exacerbate the physical. That is why most nations have laws against inflammatory speech. But with freedom of speech and social media the practical implementation is complex.

U know I have lived in Gujarat..both before and after the Godhra incident.

The place has been ravaged by frequent riots up until 2002..all festivals were under fear.. the whole city would be on tenterhooks..police force on their toes..have seen people including relatives being fed up and leave their ancestral homes and settle in newer areas for some peace.

And yet have seen them meet up their friends from other religion frequently, visit eachother on Rakhi and Eid..all those riots were not done by common people..there were antisocial elements behind that who were backed by powerful people.

And the same place has seen no riots after 2002..it has seen development which is not marred by frequent disturbances..thats the reason n average citizen of the state backs the govt..including gujarati Muslims.

So trust me when I say it's difficult to overcome the memories of those days..online toxicity can be ignored by us common people.

Her problem (and mine) was the execution & the movie coming out in the current political climate, it wasn't really said in her article that no movies should be made about muslim terrorists. That would be obviously ridiculous.

Also wtf how is Minnal Murali hinduphobic, how would these people deal with PK or OMG now I wonder. They likely wouldn't be made

Well online toxicity can be damaging and influence people in a negative way IRL. I have seen tons of tweets done by Hindus saying they won't rent to Muslims (article about it: https://www.article-14.com/post/bigotry-at-home-how-delhi-mumbai-keep-muslim-tenants-out).

There is real tension between the two communities in many areas (in others not so much).

You have no problem with PK or OMG, but have a problem with Sooryavanshi? HAHAHAHAH LMAO. This is too funny. 🤣

And yet you keep denying that you're a closet sympathiser of Jihadis and extremists. 😒 It's getting comical the way you expose yourself.

Btw Taimur specifically targeted Hindus or natives in India, historians have called his actions genocide.
