All these message films of Akshay came way later after success of Aamir films based on social issues.

Anyway it is good Akki succeeded in following Aamir's footsteps. Otherwise other stars even give flops in message based films and have talent of giving an Oscar nominated director a flop as well.

Yeah biggest success story of last decade who could not match records of Dangal, PK, Dhoom 3 - all of which are different genres.

Never in his entire career did Akki match any Khan, Hrithik or even Ranbir who has a blockbuster like Sanju to his credit now. He gives dozens of films but none becomes as big hit or as iconic as films of other bigger stars. He shines most when Khans, Roshan or Kapoor take breaks or have no release.

He is an old fashioned star like Jeetendra or Mithun in terms of doing dozens of films at a time.

Selectivity in brands or films is not what he believes in. He will probably do anything for money.

He has no ideology either. Had dialogues in Namaste London promoting Sonia G and Manmohan Singh, campaigned for late Sheila Dixit in Delhi. Suddenly became Modi bhakt in 2014.

He'll probably shift to any ideology or party in power as long as it suits him or helps him get ahead of competitors.

He will keep working the way Dev Anand worked even till 80 without bothering if public was fed up of him.

Public has gotten so smart that it kicked every one where it hurts the most.

They have saved themselves many times earlier and brought down many superstars, legends blah blah. They will send many other icons packing as well.

Most of the industry is scared as of now with films flopping and recent films no longer being watched as much as even web series.

Public isn't that smart and still likes dumb masala movies, how else do you explain the success of garbage like Simmba or Sooryavanshi.

The movie just needs to connect with the audience somehow, doesn't matter if it has a message or is dumb masala stuff

I love the message based films first. So I will give credit to ones who first started trend of message based films which is Aamir and Hirani.

And no. I am not a fan because fan is expected to blindly worship or defend stars or each film a star does. And I cannot do it for anyone. Don't expect me to praise someone for every damn thing they do.

Lulz. If I was in love with him I would not have called his only ATBB in 90s as the worst and most undeserving film to get ATBB tag or called his dog blog as a low for any public figure.

I see posts of last few days have hurt some fans of stars in doldrums nowadays. But it is okay. Understandable. Truth about BO and acclaimed films of last decade will hurt. Last decade has been traumatic for 3.5 billion fans.

Not everyone is a 'fan' or bhakt of a celeb to shamelessly defend even bad films or personal life.

Every actor or filmmaker should get their due. Facts are more important than fandom.

Since you are so riled up you can revisit old posts where I criticised Aamir, if that helps you feel better, digging 10 year old posts. 🤣

I have better things to do in life than fall in love with some celeb 'since childhood'. And that too a twice divorced celeb who abandoned a child out of wedlock. Nope. Not interested. He's done some good work which should be given its due for what it is. Just like there is no need to bash Akshay Kumar for doing patriotic films, which are better than slapstick comedies and masala films he did earlier.

Do not assume everyone carries same limitations of being a so called fan or lover of a celeb. I have never watched Dhoom 3 nor liked Fanaa, Mangal Pandey, Talaash. I have usually mocked his early films like Awwal Number, Tum Mere Ho, Aatank hi Aatank etc. 🤣

I didn't know few posts in 4 days will hurt so much. 🤣.

Waise sad days that nowadays people are having to rely on Akshay or Sunil, Hrithik or Aamir to discuss something. 0 hopes in these bleak times. Sed life.

Seems like this thread is escalating into a Akshay fanboy vs Aamir fanboy war lol.

Let's keep it focused, Aamir isn't the topic here
