What went wrong between Abhishek and Rani?

Just watched BB2 on Prime India and oh man, what a missed opportunity....And I love Rani-Saif pair, especially HumTum but Bunty belongs to Abhishek...the innocence and charm of young Bunty portrayed by AB was surely missed and I couldn't help myself from missing him...and hello! How dare they replace him in all those OG montages from the 1st part??

And that again brought me to this question that keeps coming back to me...what really went wrong between Abhishek and Rani? Things seemed to be going well, they were in love, doing movies together...even talks of marriage...and suddenly Aish came into picture...I remember, as a teenager, directly just hearing abt their engagement...all know Abhishek-Rani relation went downhill from that point with her not being invited to the wedding, them not doing movies together (apart from previously signed Laaga Chunri..), Rani not even mentioning Abhishek anymore...what went wrong?

Abhishek doesnt seem like a guy who would go for a trophy wife or would cheat while being in a committed relationship with Rani...he does seem to love Aish, although how they ended up being a couple still baffles me!!

Any reliable insider news?

I was wondering about this the other day. Nobody really knows but Rani was quoted by a newspaper saying she was very hurt at not being invited to his wedding.

Rani and Abhishek never were a thing. Rani was busy chakkar-chalaoing married men like Govinda and Aditya Chopra. Abhishek was with Karisma and Dipannita around the same time.

It was towards the end of 2005 that Ash and Abhishek started dating as they were doing three films back to back, which later evolved into a relationship.

Rani and Abhishek had good chemistry but that's about it.

Reason Rani may not have been invited had to do with Ash and not Abhishek. AB was just being respectful of his fiance's wishes by not inviting those who caused heartburn to her in the past, and not ruin one of their happiest days of their lives.

Rani has been attending the Bachchans' Diwali bashes..is anything really wrong?

The ladies even met and consoled eachother when their respective fathers passed away.

They had some issue long ago.. early 2000s. Aish was supposed to be in the movies Rani hot later due to her issue with Salman.

She invited Preity who was her Veer Zaara replacement.

It's not about Rani replacing her, but the way she had done it behind her back. SRK did the same but for multiple films.

SRK apologized to Ash later, and she was cool with him after that, attending his birthday parties and all. Rani never apologized for what she did. Needless to say they could never get back that friendship.
