Absolutely horrible statement by this wannabe Ray director but title is misleading. I've read the full article on TOI. It was his personal statement not of the whole jury. Nowhere it has been said that Sardar Udham was rejected because of this issue.

Please don't utter this abomination's name in the same paragraph as Ray. Please don't. 😳

The sad part, the film deserved a wider audience. Its Shoojit's best so far and thats saying a lot. Probably India's best chance in a long long time too. The sadder part, Uddham Singh's story deserved an even wider audience. He's been lost somewhere in the History pages. Pathetic!

That's why I said wannabe Ray 😆 His whole career is based on basing his music on Ray's films 🤪

Only if they had waited a little longer for theatres to open than selling it to Amazon. But on the other hand wonder if it could pull in audiences much in theatres. It's unlike any other Indian biopic or historic film so far so maybe due to it being niche they thought of getting a better deal with Amazon

Yeah, but after this statement he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Ray. That's what I was saying.

Translation:

There was some other reason we didn't pick up Udham Singh, which I will now deflect attention from by making asinine comments.

This sentence makes my blood boil. What an insensitive, tone deaf, idiotic freakin comment 👎🏼 A film portraying one of the bloodiest chapters in Indian history is “harping” on the incident. Shameless person 😡
