ETA : Can’t believe I ended up choosing more dp films. The options were such! I chose those I enjoyed the most in the options.

Anushka's acting was way better than Deepika IMO. But YRF didn't give her any publicity.

Best Breakthrough:

COCKTAIL vs HIGHWAY vs BAND BAAJA BAARAAT

All were good but Highway was better.

Best Mass-Acclaimed role:

PIKU vs UDTA PUNJAB vs NH10

Piku. The acting was good in both the other movies too but Piku was much more entertaining.

Best Rom-Com-Drama:

YEH JAWAANI HAI DEEWANI vs 2 STATES vs JAB TAK HAI JAAN

More fun movie.

The other two movies were awful so I can't appreciate the performances. Tamasha is hot garbage, even worse than ADHM.

PADMAVATI vs KALANK vs BOMBAY VELVET

None. Movies like these give me nightmares.

Best Off-Beat Role:

FINDING FANNY vs GULLY BOY vs MATRU KI BIJLEE KA MANDOLA

Gully Boy is obvious. Aloo was so good and the movie was much better than the other two flops.

Best WTF Role:

HAPPY NEW YEAR vs SHAANDAAR vs JAB HARRY MET SEJAL

I really like the movie. Sue me. Anushka's role was supposed to be annoying and she was great in irritating people. 😆

Yikes. All are horrible movies with horrible acting but I guess I had to be forced to watch one, I'd still take in Anushka in Zero over the other two cringe roles.

No one in the history of BW got a bigger and better debut than Deepika....

Look at what all she gets in her first movie...that people do not get in their whole career..

-Getting to work with the biggest superstar at that time

-Movie becoming a blockbuster

-Getting a double role

-Getting to play a period role

-Getting to play a modern day girl role

-getting to play a ghost

-Getting some of the best songs in BW

-Getting an iconic dialogue...Chutki bhar sindoor..

-Looking like a dream...the credit of this goes to Deepika..😆

Hrithik in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. He didn't have to work with a superstar, he became a superstar overnight.

Nope, I am not talking about who became a star after, I am talking about what all a person gets to do in the first movie...despite being cast opposite SRK...she was not overshadowed even a little bit.

Becoming a superstar from one's debut movie alone is a bigger deal than being paired with a superstar in one's debut film imo.

Om Shanti Om would not have been the blockbuster it was if SRK wasn't in it and Deepika had been cast alongside a lesser hero or another unknown debut hero. So while it's true that it was an amazing debut film for Deepika to be cast alongside SRK, I think what Hritihik achieved is far more impressive since he didn't need the aid of a superstar, he became one on his own merit.

1) Getting to DUB her own lines (which some would say is 50% of the role) - Sonam did that

2) Kicking someone's ass - Parineeti did that

3) Wearing a bikini - Alia did that

4) Getting to work with the GOAT Amitabh Bachchan - Katrina did that

5) Being a former Miss World - Priyanka did that

5) Almost dying but not playing a ghost - Janhvi did that
