I mean, this guy releases new movies quicker than you can say boo.

So overexposed and getting annoying now.

He likes to work regularly. Instead of working once a year like many actors. Nothing is wrong with that. You don't have to watch him if you find him annoying. It's pretty easy to avoid films. I think it's harder for him to say let me sit at home and not take up this project to make loads of money because mothymoth has seen my face too many times this year.

It's the opposite of the Aamir/Hrithik approach, and it's worked for Akshay.

He's managed to keep himself relevant for so long, because we always have to keep hearing about him, given his film output. It's allowed him to brush over his 'flops' -- of which he has many -- because there's always something else being released right after. On the other hand, if one of Aamir or Hrithik's projects flop, we hear endless discussion about whether they're washed up and/or done as leading men.

Low budget flicks and him being a restless person. Another reason might be him wanting to avoid his wife as much as possible 😆

My main problem is him sleep walking through one set after another not putting forth any effort into any of his roles and making them look like chronicles of the same person. 🤔

Because he picks roles which are easy to do, and movies which are quick to shoot. His performances and now, even his looks are similar from one movie to the other. Recycled roles in different setups.

Thats his way of working though and it works for him. He doesn't take outlandish risks and does any 'passion projects'. I think he treats his profession as just a means of minting money, and then goes home and enjoys that money. Nothing wrong with that. Only thing is, if you had to bet on someone to take Bollywood to newer, ambitious heights, he would he the last mainstream actor you would bet on.

Million times better than actors like Ajay, Salman though

He makes a lot of films but he actually doesn't work more than other actors. He doesn't takes months or even weeks to prepare for roles and usually his films take 60 filming days or less. I think Bell Bottom took a month. He works 8 hours a day. He doesn't even take time to memorize the script. He uses cue cards.

Explain your Time formula to us.

The maximum number of days I have shot for a film = 72 days(for Rowdy Rathore)

Average number of days I shoot for a film = 60 days ie. Total number of days I shoot in a year = 60 x 4 = 240 days

Days for brand endorsements = 7 Balance = 118 days are holidays

Don’t work on Sundays = 52 days

Annual holiday with family = 45 days

One week holiday after every film = 3 times = 21 days

Also: Sometimes, I have even more free days as films like Namastey London, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Jaanwar I have shot in just 32 days.

When you work so hard, do you have to forego your sleep?

Not at all. I go home on time and usually don’t shoot at night, unless it is a night sequence. I work only 8 hours a day. I need my full 8 hours sleep and usually sleep by about 10 pm as I get up between 4 and 5 am. And yes, lifestyle is important, so I don’t party as I need to get up in the morning. If you start early, you can actually finish half your day’s work by 10 am. I have so much time during the day.

I can't stand Akshay but he's completely right about this. I started getting up at 5 AM a few years ago and that changed my life. You genuinely feel like you have so many hours in the day. Staying up late doesn't accomplish the same thing because you're already tired at the end of the day so you work much slower.

The one good trait Akshay has is discipline. The other actors waste so much time. I'm sure some of it is spent on preparing but I think a lot of it is wasted on stuff like partying

Don't you start feeling tired around the afternoon? I tried but started feeling sleepy around noon/1 pm. 😔

He's right about the non partying and getting sleep but most working days for an actor on a film set greatly exceed 8 hours.. Usual it's around 10-12 with it often taking 16+ hours. A lot of that is waiting around but there's also rehearsals, set ups, multiple takes etc. He obviously arranges his shooting schedule to do all his work in one chunk (even if other actors and the crew are there hours before or after) and if he's acting off cue cards and doing just one or two takes then 8 hours or less is quite doable.
