Ajay before his Rohit Shetty days. The other two are terrible on screen and offscreen.

Interesting. To me, Salman has been an all-rounder. He has showcased so many different types of personalities in his movies. He was very convincing as a lover-boy and was a good romantic hero. He can do a nice "I'm shy and good" role like in Judwaa or Bajrangi. Judwaa was impressive because he did well in both the shy role and the "naughtier" one.

I think he can emote many emotions well. I would put him above at least Sanjay Dutt.

Problem with Salman is that he just sleepwalks in almost every role he does. I don't see even an effort to give a good performance. When he does try to put effort it ends up looking unintentionally comical.

Yeah he's good in romantic lover boy roles but that's again mostly his charm and not his acting skills.

Dutt was not ever that great as a lover boy but he can give intense performances and he nails it in gangster roles, and mind you thats not actually his real life personality. So he isn't playing himself like Salman in movies.

Ajay and Sanjay are also better in comedy. Watch Ajay in Golmaal 1 and 2 and Sanjay in old David Dhawan films.

Salman hams in comic roles unlike the other two.

In real life - Salman and Sanjay, for keeping up the pretence of innocence all these years.

To answer the question:

Ajay Devgan is the better actor out of this trio, but he sucks at comedy. The only performance of Sanjay I liked was Munna Bhai, but that’s probably because he was acting mostly like himself (Gangster role).

Honestly, I have never rated Salman as a good actor. The only performance of his that I liked was Hum Saath Saath Hain and Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Humble and sushil-shant kind of roles suit him better as he’s not required to emote much other than smiling shyly and looking down majority of the movie. His comedy movies are lame. No comments on Masala movies. His ripped shirts has more movement than his own expressions.

Salman isn’t good at emotional scenes, especially crying. It kind of resembles a constipated baby, who after straining for a while, ends up wailing from the pain. Though to be fair, I have liked and shed many tears over his tragic movies (Tere Naam, Kyon Ki & Phir Milenge). But then again, I’ll cry just seeing a random person eating a sandwich on their own. Point is, the tears had nothing to do with his acting but more from the storyline and my pathetic-overactive tear glands.

One thing the three of them have in common is being bad human beings. People think Ajay Devgan is such a great actor because he is not "good looking" model types. Overrated as hell.

Although he does have some very good performances like Zakhm, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But a good actor has to do well in more than one type of role. He is only good in intense/moody roles where he has to stare a lot. Have you seen him trying to do comedy? Yikes.

Sanjay Dutt is similar to the above.

Salman Khan is a buffoon not an actor.

I have my own theory regarding his fans, which I shan't express here because I don't want to get banned.
