I want to put Darr on this list also... As child I remember watching this and was completely smitten with the idea that a man like SRK's character loved Juhi Chawla's character. I seriously believed Sunny was the uninvited guest to the party. Like SRK'S character, I wished she would just seat back and reflect on this obsessive lover, she might realize he's the one she's meant to be with. It broke my heart when Rahul shouted his last breathe saying Kiran... I cried so much, as a child cuz that's not fair....
Then you grew up! Had my own life experiences and never ever found anyone like Rahul. Thank God! But the vale was lefting from that delusional thinking that the character romanticized with the idea of love and placing someone as his saviour from reality. Rahul never spoke to Kiran directly, according to her. She looked at his with a bit of sympathy and curiosity (who was the girl that he liked so much). But that's it.
Now as an adult with so many lived experiences under my belt, I can't stand watching a movie that is so toxic with it's message. But worst then that is how it's filmed... You are constantly rooting for a stalker. That's just disgusting!
Today when I watch that movie (hypothetically), I think the film would end for me when Rahul is on top of building with a flower in his hand, eyes closed and plucking away each petal with... She loves me, she loves me not... But in my version his last petal would be "she loves me not" "oh, shit... I die" THE END
