Does Ranbir want to have a family?

Is the only reason Ranbir would ever get married is to take the Kapoor lineage forward?

If he wasn't the only chirag of Kapoor khandaan...if he had a brother, or his father's brother had a son, his patriarchal family won't be putting so much pressure on him to get married.

I don't think he wants to get married. He's 38 and doesn't look interested at all in having a family.

Maybe if our country allowed gay marriages, and our society was mature enough to accept his relationship with Ayan, then he would've got married on his own accord, for his own happiness.

I agree. Ranbir doesn't look one bit, the kind of person that wants to 'settle down' with anyone. He's quite happy not being tied to someone I suppose. Even Alia is probably more Neetu's choice and persuasion than his? I somehow feel he wants to please Neetu regardless. But IDK.

Also Ranbir and Ayan? Is Ayan Bi or leaning gay? He dated Mouni Roy for a while I thought.

it’s so strange. People insist Bollywood is progressive and liberal . Yet, follows patriarchal ideas like family lineage and khaandaan ka chirag.

women are literally incubators , with all that so called success, these women have no problem signing up to provide a heir and a spare too .

I thought kapoors are big family and there are others who are interested in reproducing, Ranbir is not the only savior of Kapoor ‘Naam’ aur SHAAN.

By Kapoor lineage, I meant lineage of Raj Kapoor, not Prithviraj Kapoor.

Raj Kapoor had three sons, Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv.

Randhir only had daughters, Rajiv never had kids. Only son of Rishi is Ranbir... so yes, he's the only saviour of Kapoor naam and shaan.

Well maybe thats your question...But Kapoor name can go on through Prithviraj's children or grand children(male). Just like Raj kapoor was one of them...so are Shashi kapoor 2 sons and 2 grand sons ...parading with Kapoor name. They may take offence to Ranbir being only Naam and Shaan...denying their birth right...

So even his grandkids can take offense if they are not considered entitled to Kapoor name tag.

Point is, Raj Kapoor has his own legacy which is bigger than Prithviraj Kapoor, because of being the most successful Kapoor to ever come out of the bloodline.

So I suppose his kids would want to take his lineage forward.

Otherwise yes, Shammi and Shashi kapoor grandkids are there to take the lineage of Prithviraj Kapoor forward, who is also a legend.
