Here are some of the books that are sitting on my shelf, collecting dust, waiting to be read. I intend to read each and every one of them but I don't want to do it half-heartedly. I want to read them with 100% focus and attention, which is why I haven't gotten around to it yet. But I will... someday, hopefully. Here goes the list:

False Accusations by Alan Jacobson

The Count of Monte Cristo

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz

The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan

Colors of Goodbye by September Vaudrey

Your Heart is a Muscle the Size of a Fist by Sunil Yapa

The Terrible Speed of Mercy by Flannery O'Connor

These are all really well-written books, well-reviewed and extremely poignant. Some of them are fiction while some are not. Just thought I'd share, who knows, you or someone else might end up reading some of them and actually enjoy them too.

I read a lot of books simultaneously.

I just finished these this week. I loved The Silent Patient (it's the best thriller I've read in a while) and Call Me By Your Name is such an adorably romantic book - it takes you into the heart of a gay romance.

I heard the biography of Umrao Jaan is good with it’s elaborate portrayal of decadent 19th century Lucknow.

I want to read the English translation by Khushwant Singh, if I can get it for free...

Hamnet by Maggie O' Farrell is a book I finished just today. It's brilliant. It is the tender story of a boy whose life was all but forgotten, but whose name was given to one of the most celebrated plays ever written. It is the story of a bond between twins, and of a marriage pushed to the brink by grief.

Beautifully imagined and written, it kept me glued to the pages for hours. I finished it it one sitting.

SPQR series by John Maddox Roberts are historical mystery books set in ancient Rome. The protagonist is one of the aristocratic politicians hobnobbing with Julius Caesar and other real historical figures. It has mystery, politics and you get some humor as a bonus.

The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon Kay Penman is a powerful tale on Richard III who had been vilified by Shakespare in his play. Richard is interesting if a bit too perfect. But I found his charismatic scheming elder brother King Edward who won the War of the Roses a lot more complex.
