Do you feel sad about the bygone era of bollywood?
For me Bollywood has always been really close, almost like a family. I have watched Indian movies, followed Indian actors/actresses since I was 5 years old, now I am in my 40's. I have grown up with Bollywood, even in my saddest/loneliest moments or happy moments in my personal life, bollywood was always there.
I grew up watching 70's, 80's, 90's and early 2000's movies, for me this era of bollywood was the best era, with best actors/actresses, movies and of course best songs/music.
I really miss that era of Bollywood. For me, I can not connect with the current batch of actors or movies. To me for example, a guy like Varun Dhawan, will never be a Govinda, or Ranbir Kapoor will never be a Rishi Kapoor, even though I know both of these young actors are good actors. I just cannot connect, and I feel bollywood movies have changed so much that they have lost their original uniqueness that was present in the era I am mentioning. That era of Bollywood was more connected to Indian/Desi culture in my opinion, now it doesn't feel that way. Where are the good songs/music gone for example?
I really miss all the actors who have gone from this world, these people are the ones I really looked up too, actors like Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Vinod Khanna, Kader Khan etc.... and the ones who have retired and no longer acting from that era, they were all the icons I use to look up too and follow
I feel like I have lost a friend who guided me since age 5 for all the years, and sooner or later it looks like I will completely stop watching Bollywood because I simply dont understand or connect with the current Bollywood.
Does anyone else feel like this?
