I just found out while ago that his real name is "Farhan" and he was born in 1973.

i know his name is Farhan but on www.imdb.com it said that he was born in 1972

i found this online...

Abraham's father is a Malayali Saint Thomas Christian architect, from Aluva, Kerala while his mother is Iranian[2], and a former basketball coach. They eloped and were estranged from their respective parents until the birth of their first child, John.

John's birth name is Farhan, but his family called him John, and he has used that name ever since. He has one younger brother, Alan.

Farhan's a translated name in another language though, thats what a member once posted in the topic i made regarded John's real name ages back...

Actually, when John came into the industry, people advised him to change his name to Farhan Khan, because all the "Khans" have been making big. But, John decided to Keep his real name and identity! 😃

He said himself in an interview with Simi Garewal

yes...john's name from his mother side is Farhan Irani...but his christan name is John Abraham and he was always called that and he didnt want to change it...you can see his whole interview on youtube with simi agerwal...he told everything about himself in that interview...its pretty old news...but t4s...later!

Yea i heard bout tat too!..Buh i thought it because it was a Christian name..neitherless, whateva the name is his defo left a mark in indian cinema!..with his KIllah Looks and ACting ablilties!😉😃

hehe thank god he kept JOHN as his screen name. otherwise, there wud hv been 2 farhan. farhan akhtar and farhan khan...

I think the name John suits him well 😳 !!
