But Miss Marple was extremely interesting because she was a gentle old lady, yet in matters of crime she could solve anything with a genuine flair, which meant she was an oxymoron. I loved her personality and the way she explored the psychological angle in the crimes she solved.

Completely agree with you.

Have you read any of hers? I have read murder was announced and sleeping murder.

Miss marple books are boring. Only Hercule poirot books were interesting.

Even in hercule poirot books, the plot and twists were intriguing but not the characters. Only Poirot was superb in all the books.

Word to your post!

The way H Poirot solved the crimes and the crime setting were also good is why ppl loved books where he was the protagonist.

Miss Marple.. stories were boring, crime setting was always in a village.

Oh woohhooo! So excited. I love Christie's works and I love every English adaptation of her works- which BBC tends to with regularity.

I believe VB can do it and adapt it successfully. Good call to drop Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple in our context.

My feelings exactly! But somehow, the recent BBC adaptations underwhelm me, technically brilliant though they are. They mess up the characters far too much. My favourite Christie adaptation remains Rituparno Ghosh's 'Shubho Mohrat' based on 'The Mirror Cracked from Side to Side'. I am expecting something similarly satisfying from VB.

Yes, that would be great.

But, from the article it seems like he is more interested in the relationship-driven ones. Like, maybe, 'Five Little Pigs', or 'The Crooked House'?

Christie has the Seinfeld problem. All her twists and tropes have been copied so many times, adaptations of her work ends up seeming derivative.

The Crooked House adapted by Bhardwaj? I'm sold.
