So I caught the movie Dolly Kitty aur Woh Chamakte Sitare on Netflix and I found it average. Despite its good intentions, the movie falters in one aspect - the cluttering of the landscape with too many points. The sexual liberation for women theme is commendable and definitely deserves a platform. Bhumi is awesome but Konkona omg....I couldn't move my eyes away from her in the entire film...such a natural performer...it is like she owns each and every frame she is in.

I’ve loved Alankrita’s work till now but everything in this movie felt forced and awkward to me. The back stories are wobbly, entire scenes seem staged and everything is clumsily/ badly gathered up in the end. The performances are what redeems the movie to a great extent, especially Konkona, Vikrant Massey and the guy who plays the delivery guy.

Overall, a one-time watch.

Has anyone seen it or intends to see it?

I found the trailer vulgar and pathetic. After your review, I am never gonna watch this. Sorry.

I saw it and didn’t like it

Konkona is fine but didn’t quite stand out...she’s had far better performances in the past

Bhoomi annoyed tf out of me...all her small town girl roles look like she’s playing the same person with the same dialect ...there is literally no variation apart from the skin colour change in bala. She’s overrated with a capital O.

Also the film is very disjointed. Dosent have a strong plot, high points to make u interested . It’s one random scene after another that dosent hold ur attention

Too many sex scenes for mainstream bolly, Bhumi’s expressions throughout the movie were ugly af- I would just wait for Konkona to appear on screen, and most importantly- the shootout and killing of key characters was so uncalled for- the ending could have been so much better without the unnecessary bloodshed.

The movie itself was just about OK - maybe a one time watch. Very reminiscent of Lipstick under my Burkha (same director).

Spoilers below -

I guess Alankrita was driving home points about going out to find your satisfaction in a loveless, sexless marriage (Koko) or that better not to live in your dream world and imagine every guy to be Prince Charming (Bhumi). The subplots about Koko’s son being too feminine and her husband using Bhumi’s app kind of derailed the main plot.. and tbh, after watching this movie, I’m not sure what the main plot was - a behind the scenes expose of how women in Noida live?

Think the movie overall had potential but the narrative jumped around a lot and the ending was a bit abrupt (and random af, wtf was a vagina installation doing in a family mela??). I think Alankrita has potential - interesting ideas along with subtlety, setting the right milieu with authentic Delhi NCR sounds and sights- but she needs to work on execution, because the overall plot was all over the place. The scene transitions didn’t help either - I get that it’s supposed to give an indie feel, but felt it was a bit disjointed. The acting - especially Konkona’s - stood out. Bhumi has good dialogue delivery but could work a bit more on her expressions. Supporting cast was good as well.

I am tired of these kind of movies which keep throwing in random making out scenes just in the name of women emancipation.I watched the trailer and that’s about it😵

As I said after watching the trailer, it was just Lipstick under my burkha meets Dream Girl.

I kinda was happy it spoke of women's sexuality, online harrasment and gender roles, but it was done in literally your face types, but it's the reality, so you can give it a pass.

Bhumi fell short compared to everyone in the cast. I love Amol Parashar and the younger kid (more) after this movie though.

The story was like too many plot points that weren't stitched together.

It's a good one time watch.
