Sonchiriya and Byomkesh will be my fav performances of his.
He was just too good in these movies.
So much potential lost.
Wish he had better support system.

I was never a fan. He was bland
I watched Chichore and I think he was brilliant in it...both as a young student and a aging Father....he was a brilliant actor....loved him in Kedarnath, Dhoni and Raabta also.....I have yet to watch Byomkesh Bakshi...I have heard nothing but good things about his performance...don't have the heart to watch sonchiraiya though.
There was a clear personality shift in the real life though. Call it growing up and becoming more aware of himself or whatever but that spark that was there when he was brand new, was gone eventually. I saw him from day one on his first TV show where he played the ML’s younger brother, where he used to be a darling both on and offscreen.
In terms of acting in the movies, I admit I was shocked to see his performance in Drive and also Dil Bechara- he looked like he wasn’t comfortable being in front of the camera. That ease that he showed in so many of his performances up until then, was gone. I felt so bad that I couldn’t even finish watching these 2 movies. Not yet watched Raabta and Sonchiriya.
How I wish he really took a Sabaath from the Bollywood like he was planning to. :(
Sonchiriya is his best
Drive and Dil bechara are probably his worst performance wise. Even I feel his performance changed over the years. He was more subtle in his initial years. Even as Manav on TV he was quite balance and not ott.
Kedarnath and Chhichhore were good too but yeah I saw slight difference in his diction and expressions. In dil bechara he looks unwell throughout the film and although initially I thought he was looking good in the promos but he actually looked so different in the movie( almost as if someone has sucked life out of him).
I agree he was at his peak both look wise and acting wise till 2015,he had this boyish charm to him which he lost in these last 5 years. He was still a good actor and gave performances like Sonchiriya but yeah something changed. He became more neurotic offscreen and that reflected in his performances onscreen too.
Maine sirf KDMHMD , pavitra rishta ke kuch episode aur PK hi dekhi .
When a person having problems in personal life then it's start reflecting in ur professional life too
His best performances were in Sonchiriya and MS Dhoni.
His worst performance was in Drive.
In Chichhore, he was overshadowed by Navin Polishetty and Tahir Raj Bhasin.

This exactly this! Why this happened we will never know. He was always praised for his screen presence and was always comfortable on camera. He is so charming and memorable in his 10 min role in PK then what happened that he looked so uncomfy in these films. I have read few critics calling him out for overdoing his expressions and constant lip biting which he had developed later in his career. It's very evident in Dil bechara and Chhichhore ( the last two films he shot)
I have not seen his recent work but he seemed like he very sad. That reflects on screen as well. I don’t like watching sad character or sad movies because we have real life problems we are dealing with. We need entertainment to forget about it. That fresh and happy image he had during his first two movies or even 2016 I didn’t see that anymore. Personal life, if you have family or friends support along with taking care of your health is the way to do. Like someone mentioned he needed a better support system
