To be honest I’m done with and tired of both of them. The moment they showed up at the awards last year with their Ranbir and Ranveer’s - trying to portray some kind of creepy orgy - I lost interest in all four of them.

Ranbir has lost a lot of credibility by associating with these clowns. I wish he settled down with Katrina.

Taapsee may not be doing cookie cutter mainstream roles, but she is carrying performances on her own and bringing in an audience. She is building her brand image without the benefits of being a star kid or starting from a huge PH.

Imo, none of these girls mentioned are in her league unless They are being considered for meaty roles mentioned above.

you can’t have a star Actress anymore Who is just there for side roles and looks. It doesn’t work that way anymore. You need to be able to perform, and you need to be given roles where you can show it. When that stops, then the game is over Or not even started

Word.

Taapsee has already become a brand name. But I feel she needs to balance the potboiler films(masala) along with the female-centric ones. That way, her reach will be more prominent.

Right now, her upcoming filmography consists of films which won't be seen by the launde laapdes. She needs to do films which will her guarantee her a more rounded audience appeal.

I believe Alaya will get opportunities because she is an insider and that too a talented one. She's just made her debut, and the buzz around her is high.

Maybe I'm wrong but I think to reach the top, one can't wait 6-7 years like Kiara/Kriti. By the 3'rd - 5th year, the actress would have accumulated a strong fan base and a promising filmography and will start featuring in top 10 lists.

Actually many stars take time before they see success. This is typically with outsiders.
the thing now is that so many star kids are achieving And expecting success So much more quickly because of the opportunities working in their favor. So success is expected much sooner as a whole within the industry which makes is so difficult for non priveleged actresses.
this is where half the debate is. Star kids using their privelege creates an imbalance, because outsiders take way more time to earn success on merit.

Alaya f will be given more opportunities and tripti won’t. That’s what’s going to happen sadly. We want to see tripti succeed but the industry won’t let it happen.

Actresses being in demand is bull crap. It’s always the opportunities that makes anyone a star outsider or not. put tripti in a big film with a good director/good content, and I don’t have one bit of doubt that she wouldn’t be any less successful with the audience than a Jhanvi or sara

It depends on how smartly Tripti plays her cards from now on. To be frank, I am surprised she hasn't been signed by any directors yet after her pitch-perfect performance in Bulbbul.

Alaya F. already has a project with ANurag Kashyap.

Now that she has established herself, I’m sure she would consider broadening her audience

I mean that is the way you are supposed to work, not force yourself into roles without any natural progression.

The director needs to envision her in those roles, she needs to envision herself in them. Then by merit, I am sure she will do such roles .

Just like Priyanka earned Mary kom, barfi by merit after years. Same with deepika.

The beauty of their careers is that it is not manufactureD

When you start manufacturing and becoming overly greedy for roles you have no suitability to be in, your career goes down.

Agreed. It’s too late for Shraddha, Parineeti, etc they’ve been here for almost 10 years. Sadly they’re past that point where they could make it big.

On average it takes most actresses 2-5 years to reach the top position (if she has what it takes)....

Deepika debuted 2008- top in 2013 = 5 years

Vidya debuted 2005 and her peak started in 2010 with Ishqiya, 5 years in.

There a few exceptions but that’s generally how it is. I’ve never heard of actresses being around for more than 5-6 years and then reaching the top. Very few cases like that

It’s more than about how smartly, it’s whether she is given such opportunities honestly Like you said she hasn’t been signed, I mean why not? She is stunning, talented.

so predicting the next no. 1 is all factual based on opportunity level

Alia would never be in my mind based on beauty or talent, but because i knew that someone was helping her to get great content and films- the no. 1 tag would be attainable for her. Simple as that

That was fake, and just too much OTT.

I mean like KR said, the same 5 people sleeping with each other, I mean didn't Katrina make an appearance as well in this masala fake award show

Any actress who is getting good work and is successful, is up for top actress spot. No. Of years doesn’t matter anymore.

Kriti has been in the industry for 6 years, but she is raved as a competent actress in her gen. She is getting great work. So I disagree. It’s changed.
