I sincerely hope SC lets Patna police to fully handle the case henceforth...they made faster progress on this case within a few days and would have solved it by now, were it not for the quarantine placed by mumbai police upon an IPS officer and Rhea blocking it with SC appeal.

Patna police can not investigate the case now. Its either CBI or Meme police. Most probably CBI.

Not sure but there was a news about IPS Vinay Tiwari being send with CBI. Hope it’s true. He seems really genuine

Well, that's discouraging if Patna police cannot be involved in the CBI probe as well. CBI made a mess of Talvar case.

At the very least, SC needs to rule the FIR in Patna favor...am worried that justice delayed is justice denied.

Wonderful "Facts" for the day.

i) A protruding tongue was only found in 36% of victims who committed suicide by hanging.

ii) Protruding eyes due to hemmorhage are even less common. Only 22%.

iii) A piece of clothing was used by over 80% of the victims. Nobody is going around looking for a rope. Somebody is watching too many bollywood movies. Clothing holds the weight just fine.

iv) Partial Hanging is a "thing" and more common than you might think.

v) While Oblique was the most common ligature mark, horizontal marks were also found in partial hangings.

v) Mumbai Police HAS the CCTV footage from the day and the day before where a party occured allegedly.

Actually i also thought it was partial hanging in the beginning considering the height of the fan from the bed and the marks. Weight of the upper body acts a sa constrictinf force is partial hanging as opposed to complete one where the body is in full suspension and the weight of whole body acts as a constricting force. But the police didn't provide with concrete facts and kept changing their statements by saying first he tried it with a bathrobe belt and then the news that the body was in inclined position. Had they not provided us with unsubstantiated and completely absurd theories it would have been thought to be a suicide. Then the tensile strength results never came back. And the resilience of mumbai police towards other agencies made it more doubtful. First they said that there was a party the night before then they denied it and pithani kept changing his statements . On the top of that , no one except pithani has seen him hanging.

Also there's a thing called postmortem hanging. That happens when you hang the body after death to project it as a suicide. The features are not very different from suicidal hanging. So no one can surely say it is hanging. All the inconsistencies are pointing towards something else. Else it would have been an open and shut case. Recording of statements from bollywood actors without filing an FIR is not an investigation.
