Leading actor Rishi talked about it too.. So have a lot of actors who have snubbed the actors over the years.. No harm in talking about it now too but I wouldn't call it an expose.. Far from it😆

My apology for butting in. But a bollywood actor talking about it is completely different than a journalist who is followed by mostly general public who have no interest in bollywood whatsoever or are following him only for politics and current affairs make a huge difference. The audience for both are different. Even non filmy people have learnt the about dirty pr tacticse and blind items cause of sush's death which used to be discussed only in small forums. What he writes carries more weightage than what spotboy/pinkvilla/if people post on small forums.

Free forum so no need to apologize.. if the general public has no interest in Bollywood, it wouldn't care whether the award is rigged or not.. And every third person, whether on social media or not knows about the reality of awards, which is why they have gone down in ratings in recent years.. I never said its wrong.. I said its not an expose, thats all

And once again, non-filmy people wouldn't care about what goes in BW anyways.. they anyways have too much in their plates with the pandemic and all.. I am talking about people not interested in BW..

Anyone who says that eventually you survive in BW because of talent is on weed. Like whom are you even fooling man?!

For a petty pan masala award they are THIS immature and ill mannered. To what extents would they go for big movies, number of theatres for their releases, publicity, endorsements and similar other stuff which makes or breaks them?! We can only imagine the shitfest going on behind the scenes.

This is so so messed up.

I was talking about it

There was a 11 year period the best actor award was shared between Hrithik, SRK and Big B. Too much shenanigans 😆

All of the "oh our film fraternity" bs has started to seem annoying and completely fake to me, even though they may actually be harmless, I don't know. I don't even feel like watching any movies from most of them.

I don't know if this is temporary but that whole industry seems to reek of fakeness and dirt where the love for cinema/art is surpassed by the lust for business and power. Meritocracy is a joke. I'm not saying that Sushant was a total saint who made no mistakes at all or that he was the best actor ever, but he, his passion and his intentions were far too good for that industry.

I guess that would be why I'm not surprised by anything anymore. As bad as the abusive comments are getting and as insensitive as this may seem, I can't say I don't understand the frustration. I just hope that some sort of significant change emerges, and that the ripples don't easily calm down for everything to go back to square one.

You are not alone with this feeling.

Glad that atleast Aamir had the guts to boycott this circus. These award shows have long lost all their credibility. And now, actors like Alia are winning over Vidya and Ranveer winning over Shahid and talentless ones like Jhanvi and Ananya even winning awards is a big joke.

sunny deol boycotted award shows in 1990s only

dharamji picked up his award at film fare

ajay devgan boycotted it for not getting for zakhm

amir khan boycotted it

many boycotted in 90s only

i always saw srk and madhuri or kajol get it in 90s for every awards

I think a lot of us are in the same boat.

Absolutely gutted by Sushant's loss and absolutely disgusted by these people in this industry who dare to call themselves 'stars'.

What I am noticing is that a lot of main stream journalists like vir Sanghavi and now Shekhar Gupta are writing abt SSR’s unfortunate demise and their limited interactions / impressions of Bollywood ... and it isn’t complimentary.

Shekhar Gupta is the president of the Press guild of India , all journalists are it’s card holders ( political , sports , entertainment etc )

He covers hardcore politics and for him to publicly out - Kjo , dharma , Akhtars , hritik , Bachans , katrina and others ... simply goes to show how disdainfully do mainstream journalists look at Bollywood .
The way he says “ it’s not really an industry “ but a bunch of “ families “ is telling enough
