China has amassed lot of wealth after becoming the manufacturing hub for the entire world.........it then started giving loans to smaller countries......lots of loan, an amount they cannot pay......and when they defaulted, China took their important ports and territory on lease...........right now they have Srilanka's hambantota port and Australia's darwin port on a 99 years lease........

then they have different strategy for some other countries....like in Pakistan they have CPEC.......similar with Nepal........they promise to build roads, develop infrastructure........slowly laying their trap......... they did the same with Tibet.........promised development and infrastructure........and as someone in the tibetan govt said, that 'first the bus came then the tanks and then the soldiers'....... China doesnt belong to anyone, neither its enemies, definitely not its friends / allies............. i have even read news of Chinese companies looting the pakistani citizen through cpec.....but the pakistani citizen will definitely believe their government more that these news, which is okay with me............... with India they tried to pull on on-baord for the OBOR, but we vehemently refused, knowing that its benefitial only for China and no other country...... and would give them more control on our infrastructure.....and will drown us more in their debt trap....

here i have shared news media of nepalese own media and few govt officials questioning why the chinese envoy is so involved in the country's politics, which is against the country's sovereignty as per the constitution.........but these members are bashing me instead.......

anyways, hume kya.......inka desh hai, jab inko problem nahi hai china ka ek province banane me, toh hum kyu matha kharaab kare..........

Yes Excatly..

They take out frustration on BW forum....and on india and indians.....👎🏼

People don’t ask to understand and I am not sitting here taking this bait .

I’ve already seen someone acting like she knows more about Nepal than Nepalese. Name calling and what not. So it’s all futile.

Also, People’s perception about Nepal and Nepalese here makes zero difference.

That’s unfortunate. I was sincere in my approach. But you took it as my bait to demean Nepal.

Yes. India is worried of Nepal's closeness to China. It is not just for Nepal's sake. It already has border problems with China. It worries, China may come closer by annexing some part of Nepal (it has happened with neighbouring countries). China also its own interest in Nepal. I don't wish Nepal to be a pawn in these big countries' games. Hence I asked.

I googled about Nepal India border dispute. This is what I found out. (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalapani_territory )

Nepal had an issue with British mapping of borders in 1865 about the area Kalapani. But British claimed the region as their territory. Nepal did not fight further. Later British territory got transferred to India after independence. Border remained the same without dispute. In 1998, this issue was first time raised in Nepal for domestic political reasons.

As you refused to share Nepali version, I will take it as the right version. I do hope that members here understand, rude and condescending attitude towards another sovereign country (however small it is) will not help in resolving the differences. But when we only see resistance without reasoning, it creates misunderstanding.

Decades ago, my parents had visited Nepal. They did not have passports then. They just went in a bus from some part of North India (I don't know). All it required was some stamp on some paper.

It must have been the same, other way too. In my childhood, I used to see many Nepali watchmen guarding some huge bungalows. I am not sure, whether any of them had visas to work in India. Growing up in this atmosphere (without strict boundaries or visa rules), have made many to wrongly assume Nepal is also India. But there was nothing cocky about it. (I know, once Hritik was condemned for that assumption). It was just that, feeling of Nepal was so integrated in our minds.

That's why I asked you. Whether there is any misunderstanding. But now I feel, it is not misunderstanding. It is trust deficit. One can resolve any misunderstandings, if only one trusts the other (believing "I did not say so with that intention"). But if you don't trust other's explanation, there is no point in holding conversation. I quit.

My response was Nothing about mistrust but the condescending attitude with which it all started (not you) .

Like I said People don’t ask questions to understand but only to respond. It’s one up.

My refusal to answer was to not further these “expert in Nepal politics” folks. Not the place to discuss politics anyway.

You can always PM if you genuinely wish to understand.

As for Nepal not fighting British, there have been Anglo Nepalese War when East India company kept trying to further it’s territory but in vain. Kalapni also falls under Sugauli Treaty if I am not mistaken.

There has always been an open border and various treaties in place to ensure peace between two nations.

No Hrithik didn’t say anything of that sort but Madhuri did. She said it while visiting Nepal with Arzoo team.

Nobody holds grudge against her for making an honest mistake although people did go to protest and Akshay intervened. And that was the end of it.

There is a huge population of Indians living in Nepal as well. There has never been animosity for them.

Pashupatinath Temple appointed South Indian Priests.

I am fully aware of what China is doing and is capable of doing. But it will be idiotic of me to talk about whatever happened in Ladakh with condescension and confidence when I am only half aware of it. I am feeding off of one side of the news. Atleast ours don’t play BW songs 🤣 and concoct love stories. The kind of news people here seem to follow.

I don’t wish to further this conversation here either. Thanks though.

Not true at all.

China Is providing free teachers if the school teaches Mandarin. But government body , Curriculum Development Centre, has stated that schools can teach languages as after hours and cannot make it mandatory.
