Yeah.. in US.. it’s a very long process and time consuming to get GC ( sometimes takes min of 10+ yrs to get it ) whereas in other countries.. getting citizenship / permission to stay permanently.. is much faster..

P.S. What do you think will happen in US in future wrt to visa and GC? Will the new president still continue to promote “buy american hire american”?

India’s backlog in employment GC is huge right now because of per country caps on Green Card( there are over 800000 green card applications pending). If Trump truly cared about immigration reform they would remove those caps . Instead he hired someone like Stephen Miller who believes in Nazi eugenics and wants to ban US immigration for non-White people in the long run 🤢 .This H1B temporary suspension is just the first step in banning immigration from countries like India .

Edit: If Biden gets elected most of Trump executive orders will most likely be repealed . That being said I am not sure how much it will improve GC process. Honestly I think Trump is going to be re-elected and things are going to take a worse turn for GC and visas .

The hate on immigrants and non whites regardless of their citizenship status will keep rising. I have never seen so many people openly coming out with hate speech on immigrants before trump came to power.
