Being the next big thing to being written off completely?

She is a good actress, has screen presence, and is pretty, too.

Yeah, she is not skinny, but that didn't stop someone like Vidya from getting work.

Does she have anything in the pipeline apart from BHUJ:The Pride of India? That too, she will hardly have anything to do in the movie, it being an Ajay starrer.

Also, her contemporaries like Parineeti who has a similar track-record of flops is getting female-oriented movies still.

Wrong film choices

From being a successful masala film actress opposite biggest male leads

To SUDDENLY shifting into female oriented films with no face value & hardly any known name opposite her.

Too sharp & sudden for a career move

+ lot of time gone by then for an actress limited time-span of career-progress & upping the game.

The problem lies elsewhere. All the female-oriented cinema she chose were B-grade movies like Khandaani something-something, and the sequel of Happy Bhaag Jayegi.

Look at Parineeti's female-oriented choices -- remakes of Girl On The Train and Siana Nehwal biopic. These are classy choices.

Its not about doing it or not

More about which phase she changed the approach , and how were the projects

Parineeti got equal bad luck

Her initial female oriented films were not B grade like Akira

Khandani shifakhana she chose when offers dried up

Sonakshi got replaced by the two Kritis, Kiara and all who have started bagging the flowerpot roles and multi starrers.
Her female oriented films didn't work, so no one is offering her those either, I guess.

If these 2 Parineeti films bomb, she will be in trouble too. What with Sara, Alaya, Jhanvi, Ananya and all being around for such movies. Filmmakers might choose them over her for multiple reasons.

I still believe that Parineeti, Sonakshi, Ileana and Yami are 4 of the most talented actresses we have. But they are very low in the pecking order. Also, age is catching up.

I don’t think you can compare sonakshi to parineeti because parineeti started immensely promising with her first few films and then got stuck in a rut with the same kind of films and underwhelming acting. Her next releases are anything beyond what sonakshi has ever done or even tried.

Even Kriti is more promising than sonakshi with her lineup with mimi, etc.

Sonakshi typecasted her self way too much in the masala route that the audience has trouble seeing her in different roles even if she tried. She is a good actress, as someone said the transition she tried to make was not strong enough for her to change how she is percieved. Now if you compare her transition to parineeti’s with saina and girl on the train..it’s underwhelming imo. Parineeti and Kritis lineup, and taapsee now are way stronger I feel in comparison.
