Varun is losing in the race to stardom

Ayushman, Kartik and Tiger have raced ahead of him. He needs to step up fast, because earlier he used to be pitted against Ranbir and Ranveer. However, 2018 and 2019 proved disasters for him and he is lagging behind by a huge margin now. Also, he is no great shakes in the acting department either.

I feel he needs to choose his projects wisely. October was a good choice, because Shoojit Sircar can make even a lamppost act and he was critically acclaimed in that movie. But his choices after that have been bland and uninteresting. He really needs to step up his game if he wants to go back to his pre-2018 days and stardom.
