Previously there was Priyanka, Katrina and Deepika. Kareena is still giving hits, wins truly because of her performances and is bagging A List projects so I don't want to count her.
Anyways so Katrina was the weakest actor, but the best dancer of the three. Her flowerpot roles can't be called flowerpots because even though she wasn't the greatest actress she lit up the screen. Gorgeous. She did dish out hits like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan and New York without any major A List actors but the phase didn't last too long. She is mainly working with the Khans, Akshay now.
Deepika is a good actor, good dancer, but she is ethereal to look at. No one could beat Deepika at her prime 2011-2015. She looks great in both Indian and Western roles and has the most charm of the three. Chose some great scripts and did period films that no other actress at the time could have done better than her. She has the most star power IMO.
Priyanka is the best actress of the three and dances well too. She's shown acting range in roles like Fashion, Barfi, 7 Khoon Maaf, Dostana. She might have had many flops but she never feared experimenting, being a mainstream actress (7KM for example). She has a certain style and panache that DP and Kat lack till date. Her confidence is the best part of her.

So one is the best dancer/performer, the other is the most charming and with the most mainstream appeal, the third is the best actor and has the greatest amount of confidence.
These girls became top 3 after Sridevi, Madhuri and Karishma/Raveena. There was a slack period between them and these girls since Rani, Preity lost the mainstream appeal.
Who will take their place from the newcomers? Janhvi? Ananya? Sara? Tara? Kiara?
